The Redskins announced the signing of offensive lineman Dwayne Morgan on Wednesday. Morgan provides another addition to a sturdy offensive line with his size, versatility and work ethic.
Morgan, 6-4 and 300 pounds, has experience both in the NFL and Canadian Football League.
In 2003, he spent the season with the Atlanta Falcons and played five games. He made his NFL debut against the New York Giants (11/9/2003) on special teams and went on to play the next four games.
Morgan injured his knee in his fifth game and was subsequently placed on injured reserve.
Prior to joining the NFL, Morgan spent significant time in the Canadian Football League. He originally joined the CFL with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 1996. He played in 38 games with Hamilton in 1996 and 1998-99 and saw action in six games with Toronto and 12 games with Montreal in 2000.
Before joining the CFL, Morgan had a standout career at Clemson. In Washington, he will take the roster spot of tight end Sean Brewer, who was released earlier this week.
