Redskins Sign Sampson to Active Roster

The Redskins have signed offensive lineman Kevin Sampson from the practice squad to their active roster.

Sampson, 6-4 and 312 pounds, was a seventh-round draft selection out of Syracuse by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2004.

Limited by injuries in three seasons with the Chiefs, he has seen action in 16 games with seven starts at right tackle in his career.

He was released by Kansas City prior to the start of the 2007 regular season and spent two weeks on the Carolina Panthers' practice squad earlier this year.

He was signed by the Redskins to the practice squad last Tuesday, October 16.

Sampson will wear jersey No. 78.

In addition, the Redskins announced that they have released tight end Cody Boyd from the active roster.
