Washington Redskins owner Daniel M. Snyder issued the following statement on the retirement plans of NFL Commissioner Paul Taglabue, announced on Monday:

"Paul has been a friend and a wise guide for me since my earliest association with the league. His foresight, patience and love of our game played a very large role in making the NFL what it is today. I am pleased that he will continue his association with us through coming years, helping owners, coaches, players and his successor further his legacy of excellence."
