The Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed free agent safety Devin Holland to a reserve/futures contract.

Holland (6-0, 205) originally signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a college free agent on July 27, 2011.

He appeared in the team's first four games of the 2011 season and compiled two special teams tackles before being placed on the Reserve/Injured list on Oct. 10. Holland was waived by Tampa Bay on July 26, 2012.

Holland played collegiately at Tulane (2007-08) before playing his final two seasons at McNeese State (2009-10). He finished his collegiate career with 157 tackles.

He was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team at Tulane in 2007.

Holland was born on Oct. 18, 1988, in Baton Rouge, La. He attended Istrouma (La.) H.S., where he was named first team all-state and all-metro as a senior.
