Biography

Luke Johnson joins Washington after spending last season with Colorado State as the team's defensive line coach and the previous season with Baylor as a defensive graduate assistant. In his lone season with Baylor, he was elevated to quality control coach and assistant linebackers coach all within the same season. Johnson worked with linebackers Keaton Thomas and Matt Jones who became the first duo to record over 100 tackles each in a season and both earned All-Big 12 honors.

In 2020, Johnson began his coaching career at Wofford as a defensive quality control coach before being elevated to outside linebackers coach for the 2021 season. He later went on to coach at Sioux Falls for one season as linebackers coach and special teams coordinator.

A native of Milan, Illinois, Johnson played four seasons (2016-2019) at UW-Platteville as a cornerback and was named to second-team all-conference in 2017 and the 2016 newcomer team of the year.
