Dan Hellie is the play-by-play voice of the Washington Commanders preseason television broadcasts, teaming with franchise legends John Riggins and Brian Mitchell. A DMV native, Hellie spent seven years covering Washington sports and has more than 20 years of NFL broadcasting experience. A graduate of Magruder High School in Rockville, Maryland, he returned home and settled in Bethesda after being hired by legendary broadcaster George Michael. During his time in Washington, Hellie covered the Commanders alongside Michael and Hall of Famer Sonny Jurgensen, while also hosting the team's weekly coaches show.
