Redskins Sign Wide Receiver Dez Stewart

The Washington Redskins added a rookie wide receiver on Monday, signing 6-foot-2, 200-pound Ohio Dominican product Dez Stewart. Washington's roster is now at 90 players.

The Washington Redskins on Monday announced the signing of rookie free agent wide receiver Dez Stewart.

Stewart, 23, joins the Redskins after a brief stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in May.

Stewart played collegiately at Ohio Dominican from 2012-15, recording 195 career receptions for 3,193 yards with 25 receiving touchdowns in 40 career games.

The 6-foot-2, 200 pounder also added 18 career rushing attempts for 184 yards with one rushing touchdowns.

Stewart was named first-team All-GLIAC at wide receiver and kick returner in 2015 after catching 68 passes for 903 yards and seven touchdowns in 10 starts while also earning first-team All-GLIAC honors in 2014, recording 62 receptions for 1,156 yards and 11 touchdowns.

With Stewart's signing, the Redskins roster is at the maximum 90 players entering training camp. He's also the 11th wide receiver on Washington's roster, joining Jamison Crowder, Reggie Diggs, Josh Doctson, Pierre Garçon, Ryan Grant, Maurice Harris, DeSean Jackson, Rashad Ross, Valdez Showers and Jarvis Turner.
