Running back Ryan Torain is a candidate for FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week for his performance in Sunday's 17-10 win over the St. Louis Rams.

Torain made his 2011 debut with an impressive performance, posting 19 carries for 135 yards and one touchdown.

On his second carry of the game, midway through the second quarter, Torain followed strong blocking to the right and burst through a hole and down the left sideline. He dove into the end zone to avoid a tackle, registering a 20-yard touchdown run.

In the second half, Torain reeled off a 39-yard run – the Redskins' longest of the season so far – to help set up a field goal.

Torain is competing with Houston's Arian Foster and Chicago's Matt Forte for the FedEx honor.
Fans can vote for one player in each category on NFL.com/FedEx through 3 p.m. ET on Friday to determine the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week.

The winners of the FedEx Air & Ground awards will be announced Friday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com.
