The book club dates and locations are as follows:

-- Monday, Sept. 20, 6-7 p.m.: BORDERS, 21031 Tripleseven Road, Sterling, Va.
The 39 Clues -- Book 1 by Rick Riordan

In addition, each Redskins Read Book Club day is also a Redskins Read Children's Book Drive Benefit Day! BORDERS "Benefit Days" are a fundraising tool for nonprofit and charitable organizations.

On these days, a portion of all the sales will go to the organization when customers present a voucher (below) with their purchase.

The vouchers may be used at any BORDERS location across the country. In total, the Redskins Read Children's Book Drive will have six "Benefit Days" (Saturday, Sept. 18; Sunday, Sept. 19; Monday, Sept. 20; Monday, Oct. 11; Monday, Nov. 29; and Tuesday, Dec. 14).

In December, the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation, Everybody Wins! DC and BORDERS will hold a very special Redskins Read Book Club event especially for a special invited group of youth participants from the Everybody Wins! DC program.

These students will get to participate in a private book club event at Redskins Park before being able to select new books that will have been purchased using funds collected through the Redskins Read Children's Book Drive.

The Redskins Read Children's Book Drive and the redskins Read Book Club are extensions of the Redskins Charitable Foundation's literacy program, Redskins Read.

Since 2000, the foundation has promoted and encouraged literacy among area youth through player reading appearances, Redskins Read Books on CD!, and the free distribution of the Redskins Read Activity Book to schools, libraries, and nonprofit organizations.

In total, the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation has distributed over 1 million Redskins Read Activity Books to youth throughout the area.
