The Washington Redskins announced a robust new partnership with Virginia 529 College Savings Plan, the leading provider of tax-advantaged college savings plans.

As the teams' official college savings plan, Virginia 529 will be the presenting sponsor of two high-profile NCAA football games at FedExField in September.

The Virginia 529 College Savings Classic will feature West Virginia vs. James Madison on Sept. 15 and Virginia Tech vs. Cincinnati on Sept. 29.

At the Virginia 529 College Savings Classic and every Redskins home game, a visit to the Virginia 529 tent will offer exciting experiences for fans and the chance to win unique prizes, all while learning about the many affordable, tax-advantaged college savings options available.

"As a parent of five children, I realize the positive impact that a college education has on their future. Virginia 529 provides families, just like mine, with a dedicated savings game plan to ensure children reach their higher educational goals," said retired Washington Redskins wide receiver and Virginia 529 ambassador, Antwaan Randle-El. "The Redskins' partnership with Virginia 529 will help to educate our fans about the importance of planning for their children's higher education and make a positive impact on our fans and their children's futures."

Virginia 529 will also be a supporting sponsor of the Redskins Charitable Foundation's annual college scholarship and will have a presence at FedExField and online at www.redskins.com.

"Virginia 529 is pleased to announce our new relationship with the Washington Redskins," said Mary G. Morris CEO of Virginia 529 College Savings Plan. "Our partnership with the Redskins allows us to further our goal of increasing awareness of, and participation in, the four tax-advantaged college savings programs Virginia 529 offers to Virginians and to families across the country."

Virginia 529 College Savings Plan is an Internal Revenue Code Section 529 plan that allows tax-advantaged savings for higher education expenses.

Four programs are available, the Virginia Prepaid Education ProgramSM (VPEPSM), Virginia Education Savings TrustSM (VESTSM), CollegeAmerica® and CollegeWealth®.

With over 2.2 million accounts and $36 billion under management as of June 30, 2012, Virginia 529 is the largest 529 plan in the country.
