The 2025 NFL season marked a powerful continuation of a mission-driven alliance in the heart of the DMV. The Washington Commanders' partnership with Vet Tix, the largest Veteran Service Organization in the United States, ensured that those who serve our country and communities had the opportunity to experience the action and excitement at Northwest Stadium.
A Mission of Gratitude
At the core of this partnership is the Vet Tix founding principle: "Give something to those who gave." By distributing free event tickets to veterans, service members, first responders, and their families, Vet Tix seeks to provide a tangible "thank you" for the immense sacrifices they have made for our nation and local communities. For many military, veteran, and first responder families, the cost of a professional sporting event can be a challenge; this partnership removes that hurdle, allowing heroes to focus on what matters most—reconnecting with loved ones.
The scale of the 2025 initiative highlights a deep commitment from both the organization and the franchise. Vet Tix directly purchased 1,200 tickets to the Commanders' home games to ensure a steady stream of access for their members. Demonstrating their dedication to the community, the Washington Commanders team donated an additional 497 tickets back to the organization, and the Commanders Season Ticket Members donated an additional 60 tickets.
Creating Lifelong Memories
This collaboration is about more than just a game; it is about creating lifelong memories for the lucky recipients throughout the DMV. Whether it's a veteran attending their first NFL game or a first responder enjoying a rare day off with their children, the atmosphere of a Commanders home game provides a sense of belonging and appreciation.
As the upcoming 2026 season unfolds, the sea of burgundy and gold will be filled with the very individuals who keep our country and communities safe, proving that the best way to honor a hero is to give them a moment to cheer.
