Jamison Crowder Suited Up For First Time With Redskins

*Rookie wide receiver Jamison Crowder, who has been held out of practice in recent days with a sore left hamstring, was padded up and warming up prior to the Redskins' preseason matchup against the Detroit Lions.

Though he was listed as "not expected to play" prior to Thursday night's preseason home opener, wide receiver Jamison Crowder was in full pads and helmet an hour before the Washington Redskins took on the Detroit Lions.

Crowder had been sidelined for the Redskins' first preseason game in Cleveland for a left hamstring injury he received late into training camp.

After the team's practice Tuesday, head coach Jay Gruden told the media he didn't expect to see Crowder play Thursday based on the limited amount of reps he had participated in over the last week.

"Probably not. Probably not," Gruden said of the likelihood to see him play. "He practiced [Tuesday] in individual and looked pretty good running around. But I don't know if we want to force the issue. We want to get him a couple good days of practice before we put him out in the game."

Crowder looked impressive in his first half of training camp at both wide receiver and as a returner. Based on those previous performances, he has a strong chance to make the final 53-man roster.
