As the second wave of free agency continues, Redskins.com's Stephen Czarda looks at some of the top remaining players on the open market.

While it's been almost two full weeks since the new league year opened, there's still a few big name free agents waiting to sign new contracts.

Yes, a majority of players sign within the first 24 hours or so of free agency, but impact players can still be signed after long waits. Last year, the Washington Redskins signed Pro Bowl linebacker Zach Brown almost a month after free agency first began.

In his first season with the Redskins, Brown led the defense in total tackles (127) despite being inactive for the final three games of the regular season.

As free agency continues, here's a look at some of the top players remaining on the open market via NFL.com’s top 101 free agents list:

Defensive Lineman Ndamukong Suh

Checking in as the No. 3 free agent this year, Suh was recently released by the Miami Dolphins after three seasons in South Beach.

Known for his run-stuffing presence, Suh has recorded 420 tackles in his career. He's also provided a pass rush presence from the interior, as the former No. 2-overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft has recorded 51.5 career sacks.

Safety Kenny Vaccaro
A former first-round pick for the New Orleans Saints, Vaccaro could be in line to join a new team.

In five seasons with the Saints to date, the 27-year-old has amassed 385 tackles with 30 passes defensed, eight interceptions, 7.5 sacks and four fumbles forced.

Last season, the University of Texas product recorded 60 tackles with seven passes defensed and three interceptions in 12 games before being placed on Injured Reserve due to groin and wrist injuries.

Defensive Lineman Johnathan Hankins
Hankins reportedly visited the Redskins last week shortly after being released by the Indianapolis Colts.

In his lone season with the Colts, Hankins tallied 44 tackles with three passes defensed and two sacks in 15 games.

For his career, the 6-foot-2, 325 pounder has registered 184 tackles with 12 sacks, seven passes defensed and three fumbles forced.

Despite entering his sixth NFL season, Hankins will be just 26 years old this year.

Defensive Lineman Bennie Logan

Another free agent defensive lineman that could be looking for a new home is the 6-foot-2, 315-pound Logan.

Entering the NFL as a third round pick for the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2013 draft, Logan spent four seasons there before signing with the Kansas City Chiefs last spring.

The 28-year-old has totaled more than 200 tackles in career.

Linebacker Pernell McPhee
Another veteran free agent that reportedly visited Washington last week, McPhee has split time between the Chicago Bears and the Baltimore Ravens.

McPhee has recorded at least four sacks in each of his last four seasons including a career-high 7.5 sacks during the 2014 season with the Ravens despite not starting a game.

He's collected 31 sacks in his career.

Running Back DeMarco Murray
Both Redskins Senior Vice President of Player Personnel Doug Williams and head coach Jay Gruden have noted this offseason that Washington is looking to add more help at the running back position.

While Williams is bullish on the running back prospects in this year's NFL Draft, Murray could give a team like Washington a veteran presence.

Murray has rushed for at least 1,000 yards three times in his career to go along with 49 rushing scores. He's also caught 307 passes for 2,165 yards and six additional touchdowns.
