During the 2025 regular season, he recorded 7.5 sacks in 12 games and went on to set a franchise playoff record with three sacks and two forced fumbles in the Chargers' playoff loss to New England. Omenihu, a fifth-round pick by the Houston Texans in 2019, has appeared in 95 games with 12 starts. The seven-year veteran also had a brief stint with the San Francisco 49ers when Commanders general manager Adam Peters was a member of the front office.
