Fred Davis Headlines Inactives Once Again

Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan praised tight end Fred Davis for a good week of practice, but the No. 2 tight end was listed among the gameday inactives vs. Denver.

Top tight end Logan Paulsen, Niles Paul and Jordan Reed will fill the position this afternoon.

Here is the full list of Redskins inactives:

  • No. 8 Quarback Rex Grossman
  • No. 25 Running back Chris Thompson
  • No. 37 Safety Reed Doughty
  • No. 51 Linebacker Brandon Jenkins
  • No. 67 Guard Josh LeRibeus
  • No. 83 Tight end Fred Davis
  • No. 95 Nose tackle Chris Neild

No. 31 S Brandon Meriweather was placed on the Reserve/Suspended by Commissioner list earlier in the week.

No. 99 Jarvis Jenkins is expected to start in place of No. 64 Kedric Golston at left defensive end.

No. 48 Jose Gumbs is expected to start in place of Doughty at strong safety.

No. 24 Bacarri Rambo is expected to start in place of Meriweather at free safety.

On the other side of the ball, the Denver Broncos will be without veteran cornerback and former Washington Redskin Champ Bailey, who was declared out following Friday's practice.
