The Washington Commanders suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of the Green Bay Packers. Here's how they stack up with the rest of the NFL heading into Week 3.

- John Keim: Daniels has completed 59.7% of his passes in 2025 after completing 69% all of last season. The Packers were unsurprisingly a tough challenge by pressuring him on 46% of his dropbacks, but the Commanders' pass game has been noticeably out of sync in both games -- especially the connection between Daniels and receiver Terry McLaurin.

- Eric Edholm: Jayden Daniels missed some throws -- and some points, too, with an intentional grounding at the Giants' 4-yard line (one of 12 Washington penalties) running out the first-half clock and keeping the Giants in the game. But chalk this stuff up to early-season rust. Daniels also threw for 233 yards and ran for 68, part of a 220-yard rushing game for Washington. Deebo Samuel and Jacory Croskey-Merritt were big hits in their Commanders debuts, even if the new offensive tackles struggled a bit. But the big story was the play of the defense. Even against the Giants, that unit's effort and execution deserve adulation. It'll be a quick turnaround to Thursday's game at Green Bay, but also an excellent chance for the defense to prove it really has taken a step forward.

- Nate Davis: Coming off a deflating and damaging loss at Lambeau, at least their healthy players − TBD if QB Jayden Daniels' knee will be sufficiently healed by Sunday − will have extra rest as the Raiders come cross country to the nation's capital on a short week.

- **Mike Florio:** Jayden Daniels took way too many hits at Lambeau Field.

- B/R staff: Thursday's game against the Green Bay Packers was not close—even less so than the score would indicate—and serves as a reminder that the Commanders may still be a year or two away from being top title contenders. They're only in Year 2 with Dan Quinn and Jayden Daniels. There will still be growing pains. None of this means that Washington should abandon its Super Bowl hopes two weeks into the season. Injuries are likely to level the playing field at some point, and if a playoff-caliber team like the Commanders can get into the postseason healthy, it can make a run.

- Frank Schwab: Jayden Daniels dealing with a knee injury and being uncertain for Sunday's game isn't ideal, but it could be worse. It's just a reminder of the concern about Daniels' durability last offseason, which seems like a worry from a million years ago.

- Pete Prisco: The offense looked disjointed in the loss to the Packers, and now Jayden Daniels has a knee injury. That's bad for this group as they've had a glut of injuries.

- Vinnie Iyer: The Commanders have struggled to stretch the field early in the season with Jayden Daniels and they might need to get more aggressive spreading the ball around and throwing it downfield. The running game (outside of Daniels) also needs to be more consistent, and now will have to do so without Austin Ekeler.

- **Connor Orr:** Jayden Daniels's knee sprain takes a little wind out of Washington's sails—especially when I thought this offense was closer than we all thought to putting it all together. Also, these early Packers games have been such buzzsaws for teams that have absolutely no way of prepping for Micah Parsons in that defense. However, don't be surprised if Marcus Mariota finishes the week as one of the NFL's most efficient quarterbacks.
