Hey Redskins Fans!
Surprise! Megs here, I'm back and happy to report from Hong Kong! It has been 3 seasons since I hung up my poms and performed at FedExField. I didn't go too far, as I have since then been the choreographer for our Junior Cheerleaders as well as a Sideline Assistant during games for our First Ladies. I couldn't believe it when I was asked to join WRC and a few of my fellow alumni to perform in Hong Kong. Not only was I excited to put our uniform back on but also to perform in Hong Kong for the second time.
It's been five years since our last team trip to Hong Kong in 2009 but the city is as beautiful as I remember. All of the skyscrapers are lit up for the New Year celebrations and the firework displays are unbelievable!
This trip has been great so far and tonight is the main event: the International Chinese New Year Parade! We have met so many different groups; from fire throwing performers from Singapore, to the 30 piece marching band from Spain and the acrobatic cheerleaders from Australia. Everyone is so talented and it's really an honor to be chosen to represent the Washington Redskins and the USA! All has proven that this is truly a once in a lifetime trip; extra thankful for the second time!
Stay tuned for tomorrow's blog on more of our adventures from Hong Kong!
Cheers!
