The Washington Commanders have placed running back Austin Ekeler and defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. on the Reserve/Injured list and signed wide receiver Chris Moore and defensive end Jalyn Holmes from their practice squad.

The Commanders also added to their practice squad by signing running back Chase Edmonds.

Both Ekeler and Wise were carted off the field during the Commanders' 27-18 loss to the Green Bay Packers last week. Wise, who signed with the team during the offseason, recorded four tackles and a quarterback hit in two games. Ekeler was a critical piece to the Commanders' offensive success last season with 733 total yards and four touchdowns and looked to be just as impactful in 2025 before his injury. Both players are expected to miss significant time.

Moore, a 2016 fourth-round pick by the Baltimore Ravens in 2016, has played in 112 games with 18 starts. He has caught 139 passes on 215 targets for 1,744 yards and eight touchdowns. In addition to the Ravens, Moore has appeared in games for the Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans and Arizona Cardinals. Moore stood out at times in training camp and had a 34-yard catch during the Commanders' season-opener against the New York Giants.

Holmes played in 11 game with the Commanders last season after starting the 2024 campaign with the New York Jets. He recorded 14 tackles with two sacks and added depth during the Commanders' playoff run.

Edmonds, a third-round pick by the Arizona Cardinals in 2018, has appeared in 83 games with 18 starts. His last action came in 2023 as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and rushed for 176 yards on 49 carries. Edmonds has also played for the Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos, recording 1,551 yards and nine touchdowns on 333 carries.
