LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Commanders announced today that they have re-signed tackle Trent Scott. Full terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Scott (6-5, 320) is a eight-year NFL veteran who entered the league as an undrafted free agent and signed with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2018. He has appeared in 96 career regular season games with 26 starts.
Last season, Scott played in eight games with three starts and no sacks allowed for his fourth straight season.
In 2024, Scott appeared in all 17 games and made one start in Week 10 against Pittsburgh. He caught quarterback Jayden Daniels' first career touchdown pass on Monday Night Football in Week 3 against Cincinnati.
Scott played in eight games during the 2023 season, with one start with the Pittsburgh Steelers. From 2020-21, Scott played in 28 games with nine starts with the Carolina Panthers.
Scott played collegiately at Grambling State where he allowed just three sacks in his collegiate career. As a senior in 2017, he posted 39 pancake blocks and no sacks earning first-team All-Southwestern Athletic Conference recognition.
Scott, 31, attended Lee High School in Huntsville, Alabama.
