LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Commanders announced today that they have signed cornerback Amik Robertson. Full terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Robertson (5-9, 183) is entering his seventh season after being drafted in the fourth round (139th overall) of the 2020 NFL draft by the Las Vegas Raiders. He spent the first four seasons of his career in Las Vegas before signing with Detroit during the 2024 offseason. Robertson has played in 86 career games, including all 17 games in four straight seasons, with 167 tackles, five interceptions and 35 passes defensed.
Last season for Detroit, Robertson led the team with 12 passes defensed and all Lions defensive backs with two forced fumbles. He made 10 straight starts between Weeks 5-15. In 2024, he started the final four games of the season including the team's Divisional round playoff matchup. Robertson totaled one interception, 20 passes defensed and seven forced fumbles over the last two seasons.
In his first four seasons with Las Vegas (2020-23), Robertson played in 54 games and had four interceptions, 15 passes defensed and two forced fumbles. He started a career high 12 games in 2023 and matched a career high with two interceptions on the season.
A native of Thibodaux, Louisiana, Robertson attended Thibodaux High School and played three seasons at Louisiana Tech University. He totaled 34 passes defensed, 23 tackles for loss and 14 interceptions during his collegiate career. Robertson finished seventh in Conference USA in career interceptions since 1976.
