Commanders sign T Lucas Niang

Roster Update - 1920x1080 (1)

The Washington Commanders have signed offensive tackle Lucas Niang.

Niang, a former third-round pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2020, has appeared in 33 games with nine starts. All of Niang's starts came during the 2021 season, when he was the Chief's right tackle in seven of the first nine games. He later moved over to left tackle before he was placed on Injured Reserve because of a torn patellar tendon.

Niang, who played football at New Canaan High School, was a Second Team All-Big 12 selection with TCU in 2018. He started all 13 games that season and did not allow a sack. He also received just two holding call in his entire 28-game career with the Frogs.
