The NFL draft is full of talented prospects every year, but there are always a few who stand out among the rest.
While previous classes had top-tier players at traditionally valuable positions like quarterback, offensive tackle and edge rusher, this year's group is a bit different. Sure, players like David Bailey, Arvell Reese and Rueben Bain are considered the best pass rushers in the class and could go as high as the No. 2 overall pick, the top of the draft is full of players at nontraditional positions like running back, linebacker and safety.
Of course, every pick involves some level of uncertainty and risk, but some are considered locks to have stronger careers than others. Commanders analyst Logan Paulsen has spent months evaluating players and has come up with his top five "guaranteed ballers," regardless of position.
Jeremiyah Love, RB, Notre Dame
""The film is good. He can catch the ball. I think there is a chance that he is really explosive all year, especially if he goes to a great situation where he will get touches."
Sonny Styles, LB, Ohio State
"He is going to get over 100 tackles. The question is can he turn the ball over? Linebacker is so hard for young guys, but I think he is special and is one of the safer prospects in the draft."
Germie Bernard, WR, Alabama
"If you asked 'what does a modern receiver look like?' it would be Bernard. At 6-1, 200 pounds, he doesn't do anything great, but he does everything very well. He is good after the catch, he runs excellent routes, he blocks, he tracks the football. He feels like a right down the fairway type of player."
Makai Lemon, WR, USC
"He is hyper competitive. He has an attitude that is like Steve Smith. I Love his work from the slot. He will block for you, and even though he is not the biggest guy, he is incredibly tough. He just loves playing football."
Tanner Kozol, TE, Houston
"He's 6-6 ½ and 250 pounds With 33.5-inch arms. He plays above the rim in the red zone. If he gets in the right system, he can do some damage in terms of getting some touches. He will be a late round guy, but the upside to him with that build and body control is enticing."
