Question of the week: How did Kaytron Allen and Robert Henry stand out vs. Miami

The Washington Commanders had a good showing in their 20-7 preseason win over the Miami Dolphins, but their two rookie running backs, Kaytron Allen and Robert Henry Jr., were the stars of the show, and the "Command Center" crew had high praise for them.

Kaytron Allen

Paulsen: I think Kaytron started a little slow. And I felt bad saying that, but then he said the same thing in his postgame presser. He started a little slow, kinda feeling it out. He saw Robert Henry come out and start ripping them off and was like, "I gotta do my thing." I think we saw Fatman, the guy from Penn State ... I'm telling you, man, I have not seen somebody here break tackles as cleanly as he does. When his shoulders are square downhill, dudes just bounce off him. It's crazy.

Smoot: It reminds me of Stephen Davis. Steve is just way bigger than you think he is. And you gotta realize, Steve ran track, ran a 4.3 coming out and still weighed 245 pounds ... and I was like, "Why can't they get this dude down?" Then I had to play against Steve when he went to Carolina, and I'll never forget it. I hit Steve; I got up and I was like, "My whole body hurts."

Moss: He's stout, too. He's short and stocky, so there's a difference if he was a much taller guy. You have that room where you can really get up under those pads. When he drops down, you don't have room to get lower. He literally was plowing through guys at times because he was getting lower than the tackler.

Robert Henry

Paulsen: He just sparks. So get this, man: I have college film access, so I can use it for the draft show and things like that. They had no games of his. I had to go online and find stuff. So he was like in the cut. The one game you can go watch is him versus Texas A&M. That was like, the No. 1 defense in the country, and he tore them up in a big way. He's not the fastest time guy, but he definitely plays fast.

Smoot: He plays with that speed. I know a lot of guys who run 4.3, but they don't play with it on the field. It doesn't translate. His translates. When he wants to get outside, you can't stop him from getting outside.

Moss: I know it's only the preseason, man, but isn't that impressive to see how the guys who are behind the scenes...find talent like that? It's the preseason, so people might look down and say it's not a real game, but still, I've seen guys come in...that don't look that good in a preseason game.
