The National Football League has announced that the Washington Commanders will be one of the participating teams for the 2026 NFL London games, presented by NetApp. The game is scheduled to be played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium — the home of the NFL in the United Kingdom.

The games in London will be part of an NFL record nine international games in 2026 across four continents, seven countries and eight stadiums.

Home to more than 17 million fans, the U.K. market has been at the center of the NFL's global expansion for almost two decades. Over three million fans have attended regular season games in London since 2007, with the games delivering a total economic impact of more than £2 billion over the years. To date, 42 regular season games have been played in the U.K.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were announced as the second team to play in London as a "home" team. Dates, times and opponents for each game have not been set.

"We look forward to welcoming the Commanders and Jaguars back to London as part of the 2026 NFL international games," said NFL U.K. & Ireland General Manager Henry Hodgson. "The NFL London games bring fans together from across the UK and beyond, and play a key role in engaging our existing fans as well as creating new audiences and driving NFL fandom in this market."

"Last season's trip to Madrid was personally unforgettable, and a tremendous milestone for our organization," said Washington Commanders Managing Partner Josh Harris. "Playing in the NFL's first regular season game in Spain and experiencing the passion of fans was truly special and reaffirmed the power of and excitement for the Commanders and NFL globally. London is home to some of the most passionate sports fans in the world. We're grateful for the opportunity to bring the Commanders and NFL football to this unique city. This trip represents another meaningful moment to engage new communities, strengthen relationships, and continue to enhance our fanbase in the UK and worldwide."

The Commanders have played two regular-season games internationally – one in London (2016) and one in Madrid (2025). Washington's trip to London a decade ago resulted in a 27-27 tie with the Cincinnati Bengals. The Commanders were considered the "road" team during last year's game against the Miami Dolphins in Madrid -- the first NFL game to be played in the country -- and fell in overtime, 16-13.
