Commanders sign Burks, Day to active roster; add Tre Hawkins, Daryl Worley to practice squad

The Washington Commanders have signed wide receiver Treylon Burks and defensive tackle Sheldon Day to the active roster and added cornerback Tre Hawkins and safety Daryl Worley to the practice squad.

Burks, a first-round pick by the Tennessee Titans in 2022, has appeared in 27 games with 17 starts. Over the last three seasons, he has caught 53 passes on 92 targets for 699 yards. He also has one career touchdown, which came in Week 13 of his rookie season against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was elevated to the gameday roster against the Seattle Seahawks and caught one pass for 14 yards.

Day has been with the Commanders since the 2024 season and has appeared in 15 games, recording 32 tackles.

Worley, a third-round pick by the Carolina Panthers in 2016, has appeared in 99 games with 64 starts. He spent last season with the Tennessee Titans, but he has also played for the Raiders, Cowboys, Bills, Lions and Ravens. He has recorded 344 tackles with six interceptions and 42 pass breakups in his nine-year professional career. Worley was a member of the Commanders' training camp roster.

Hawkins, a sixth-round pick by the Giants in the 2023 NFL Draft, has appeared in 20 games with four starts, recording 45 tackles with three pass breakups. Hawkins spent the last two seasons of his collegiate career at Old Dominion, where he had 133 tackles, 13 pass breakups, three forced fumbles and two interceptions.
