Washington Commanders linebacker Bobby Wagner has been ranked No. 74 on the NFL's Top 100 players of 2025, marking the 10th time the 10-time Pro Bowler has made the list.
Wagner was one of the many players general manager Adam Peters and head coach Dan Quinn signed in the offseason. The veteran quickly stood out because of his leadership, mentorship for rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and production. Wagner led the team with 132 stops, marking the 13th consecutive season that he surpassed the 100-tackle mark.
He is tied with former Washington linebacker London Fletcher for the most consecutive 100-tackle seasons in NFL history.
"Bobby Wagner's as cool as you can get in just about every scenario, and then next to him is Frankie, who is wound up as wild and fun as you can get," said head coach Dan Quinn. "So, it's nice to have the balance of both of them doing their thing."
Wagner continued to flaunt his reliability during the 2024 season, as he started his 200th game in 202 appearances. Cameron also noted that Wagner "led all qualifying linebackers in PFF run-defense and pass-rush grades in 2024" and that he recorded a 91 grade against the run for the third consecutive season.
According to Pro Football Focus, Wagner was the most efficient pass-rusher for his position in the regular season. He received a 91 overall grade from the analytics website with 26 pressures. He had a missed tackle rate of just 5.1% -- the fifth-lowest of his career.
"Bobby, I've said it many times, he's a coach on the field," said defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. "He's the ultimate leader; for him to be the Bobby Wagner, he's a humble man. He listens, he takes coaching, he has one of the best linebacker coaches in the world in [Linebackers Coach] Ken Norton [Jr.]. So, they have like a father-son type of relationship, but he takes the younger guys, he brings them, he's a mentor. I can tell him and talk to him within the game and he could take what I'm saying and communicate it really well to the players. So, he's like a coach on the field."
