LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Commanders announced today that they have signed offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil to a contract extension. Full terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Tunsil (6-5, 313) is a 10-year NFL veteran who entered the league with the Miami Dolphins as a first-round pick (13th overall) in the 2016 NFL Draft. In his career, Tunsil has started in all 139 games he has appeared in and is a five-time Pro Bowler (2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024). In 2016, he earned PFWA All-Rookie Team honors.
During the 2025 season, Tunsil allowed 1.5 sacks in 14 starts. He earned an 88.9 pass block grade from Pro Football Focus which ranked second among all offensive linemen with a minimum of 554 offensive snaps.
From 2019-2024, Tunsil played for the Houston Texans where he started in 81 games and earned Pro Bowl honors in each season. In 2024, Tunsil registered an 89.1 pass block grade from PFF among all offensive tackles. He also had a pass block win rate of 93 percent on 411 total snaps, tied for the seventh best among all offensive tackles, per ESPN analytics.
Since 2022, Tunsil has earned a 91.7 pass blocking grade (second among all offensive tackles) and allowed a presser rate of 3.1 percent, the third best among all offensive tackles.
Tunsil played collegiately at Ole Miss for three seasons (2013-15) where he played in 29 games (26 starts) and earned second-team All-America and first-team All-SEC honors in back-to-back seasons (sophomore and junior). As a junior, he was a member of the Rebels offensive line that helped the offense average 201.7 rushing yards and 514.0 total yards per game. His freshman season, Tunsil played in 12 games with nine starts, was named to the SEC All-Freshman team and became the second player in Ole Miss history to earn second-team All-SEC honors.
Tunsil, a Lake City, Fla. native attended Colombia High School where he was a Class 6A All-State tackle.
