The Washington Commanders hosted nearly three dozen NFL Draft prospects, most of which have ties to Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia, to provide them with an opportunity to showcase their skill sets.
The list of 34 draft prospects included the likes of Ashburn, Virginia, native and University of Maryland receiver Tai Felton; Auburn linebacker Eugene Asante, who grew up in Alexandria, Virginia; and Baltimore native and University of Tennessee wideout Dont'e Thornton. The University of Maryland was well-represented at the team's home facility in Ashburn with seven former Terps attending the pro day. The list of prospects also included to former Howard players: running back Jarrett Hunter and safety Xavier Robiou.
The group featured a variety of positions, but the majority -- 18 prospects -- played on defense. It also included three special teamers: West Virginia kicker Michael Hayes and long snapper Austin Brinkman and Navy punter Riley Riethman.
