The Washington Commanders will host the Philadelphia Eagles at Northwest Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 20 in a rematch of the 2024 NFC Championship game. The game will be televised on FOX.

It likely comes as little surprise that a matchup between these NFC East foes will get exclusive treatment. The Eagles, who finished first in the division, and the Commanders, who finished second, were among the league's best last season and went on to clash three times.

In the first at Lincoln Financial Field, the Commanders flashed many of the strengths that would go on to blossom later in the year but ultimately couldn't finish and fell to the Eagles, 28-16, on Thursday Night Football. The regular season rematch in Landover, Maryland, produced an instant classic as Washington, led by a never-fazed Jayden Daniels, overcame an early 14-0 deficit to stun Philadelphia, 36-33. The dramatics included a game-winning touchdown with six seconds left in the game.

After upset wins in the playoffs against the Buccaneers and the Lions, the Commanders battled the Eagles for the third and final time in the 2024 season. A magical run for the Commanders ultimately came to a close in Philadelphia in the NFC Championship, Washington's first since 1991, as the eventual Super Bowl winners came out on top, 55-23.

The stats also provide ingredients to make this Dec. 20 matchup a must-watch. Both offenses, led by star quarterbacks Daniels and Jalen Hurts, finished in the top ten in multiple categories last season.
