LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Commanders announced today that they have signed running back Jerome Ford. The full terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Ford, (5-10, 210) is entering his fifth year in the league after joining the league with the Cleveland Browns as a fifth-round pick (156th overall) in the 2022 NFL Draft. In his career, Ford has appeared in 57 games with 18 starts and has recorded 340 carries for 1,463 yards with seven touchdowns along with 107 receptions for 647 yards and five touchdown receptions.
Prior to signing with Washington, Ford spent his whole career with the Cleveland Browns.
Last season, Ford played in 13 games and had 24 carries for 73 yards as well as 26 receptions for 103 yards.
In 2024, Ford appeared in 14 games, starting in six and recorded 104 carries for 565 yards and three touchdowns along with 37 receptions for 225 yards.
During the 2023 season, Ford saw action in all 17 games with 12 starts and recorded 204 carries for 813 yards and had a career high in rushing touchdowns (four) and receiving touchdowns (five) with 44 receptions for 319 yards. In the postseason, he played and started in one game totaling nine attempts for 17 yards and four receptions for 15 yards.
In 2022, Ford appeared in 13 games with eight attempts for 12 yards.
Ford played collegiately at the University of Cincinnati from 2018-2022 where he played in 32 games and recorded 214 carries for 1,319 yards and 19 touchdowns along with 21 receptions for 220 yards and one touchdown. Ford was named to the 2021 All AAC Championship Game and earned AAC Championship Game MVP honors in 2021.
A native of Tampa, Florida, Ford attended Armwood High School.
