Commanders sign Von Miller

The Washington Commanders announced today that they have signed outside linebacker Von Miller. Full terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Miller (6-3, 250) is entering his 14th NFL season and entered the league with the Denver Broncos as a first-round pick (second overall) in 2011. Miller, a two-time Super Bowl champion and 2015 Super Bowl MVP, has played 186 career games and totaled 129.5 sacks, 446 tackles and 171 tackles for loss during his career. Miller's 129.5 sacks are the most among all active players. He is an eight-time Pro Bowler and three-time Associated Press All-Pro Team selection.

In three seasons with the Buffalo Bills (2022-24), Miller appeared in 36 games and recorded 14.0 sacks, 33 tackles and 23 quarterback hits. In Week 1 of the 2022 season, he recorded the 20th two-plus sack game of his career.

In 2021, Miller started 15 games and totaled 9.5 sacks with the Los Angeles Rams. He started all four playoff games, including Super Bowl LVI where he had 2.0 sacks and three quarterback hits

Miller spent nine seasons in Denver (2011-19), totaled 106.0 sacks and earned six straight Pro Bowl honors from 2014-2019. His time in Denver is highlighted by the 2015 season when he recorded 11.0 sacks, four forced fumbles, 32 quarterback hits and won Super Bowl 50 MVP. Miller missed just 10 games during his time with the Broncos.

In 2012, Miller posted career highs in sacks (18.5), tackles for loss (28) and forced fumbles (6). In Week 13 against Tampa Bay, he returned an interception 26 yards for his first and only career touchdown. In his rookie season, Miller won Defensive Rookie of the Year after posting 11.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in 15 games played.

Miller, a DeSoto, Texas native, attended DeSoto High School. He played collegiately at Texas A&M University for four seasons (2007-2010) and had 33.0 sacks and 181 tackles in 47 career games. In his junior and senior seasons, Miller led the Big 12 in sacks with 17.0 and 10.5 respectively.
