LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that former tackle Joe Jacoby will serve as the team's honorary captain when the Redskins face the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Wild Card Round this Sunday.

Jacoby, a three-time Super Bowl champion, was named in November as one of 25 semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2016. He was selected from an original list of 108 modern-era nominees. Tonight, Jacoby can become one of 15 finalists for the class, a list that will be revealed during a one-hour "Gold Jacket Finalists" special on NFL Network at 8 p.m.

Jacoby's honorary captainship on Sunday will come as part of pregame proceedings that will include a performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner" by Sgt. Vicki Golding of the United States Army, a Prince George's County Police Department color guard and a flyover provided by the United States Air Force.

Fans are once again encouraged to arrive early and be in their seats by 4:15 p.m. to enjoy the pregame ceremonies. All stadium gates open at 2 p.m.
