Quarterback Kirk Cousins Named NFC Offensive Player Of The Month

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The National Football League announced today that Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for November.

In three games in the month of November, Cousins completed 84-of-116 passes (72.4 percent) for 1,086 yards with eight touchdowns and no interceptions for a passer rating of 124.4. His 362.0 passing yards per game led all NFL quarterbacks in the month of November.

The Player of the Month honor is the second of Cousins' career, joining his selection in December 2015. He joins linebacker Wilber Marshall – who earned NFC Defensive Player of the Month honors in October 1991 and October 1992 – as the only players in team history to win multiple Player of the Month awards.

Cousins is the second member of the Redskins to earn Player of the Month honors this season, as kicker Dustin Hopkins won NFC Special Teams Player of the Month in September. The selections mark the first time the Redskins have had multiple players collect a Player of the Month award in a single season since Marshall (October) and wide receiver Gary Clark (November) both took home monthly honors in 1991.

Members of the Redskins have accounted for 15 Player of the Month awards all-time, including seven Offensive Player of the Month honors. Former offensive winners from the Redskins include Cousins (December 2015), running back Clinton Portis (October 2008), quarterback Todd Collins (December 2007), running back Terry Allen (October 1996), Clark (November 1991) and running back Earnest Byner (December 1990).
