On Tuesday, September 23, Zach Ertz, joined by his family, went to one of D.C.'s most famous landmarks to take part in the sacred ritual of laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The gesture pays gratitude to and remembers the sacrifices of American service members.

As part of the team's Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, Commanders players and staff visited Mount Vernon Elementary School to assemble nutritious care package meal kits for kids who otherwise might go hungry over the weekend. The majority of students at Mount Vernon Elementary are English Language Learners, with many coming from Spanish-speaking households, and the school offers a dual-language program designed to make students bilingual, biliterate and culturally aware.
