On Tuesday, September 23, Zach Ertz, joined by his family, went to one of D.C.'s most famous landmarks to take part in the sacred ritual of laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. On Friday, September 12, Washington Salute, Major Tuddy and Command Force showed up and showed out for Joint Base Andrews Airshow's STEAM Day. The Commanders contingent gave out swag, walked the flight line and greeted dozens of military members and their families and took photos with Airmen and airshow guests.

As part of the team's Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, Commanders players and staff visited Mount Vernon Elementary School to assemble nutritious care package meal kits for kids who otherwise might go hungry over the weekend. The majority of students at Mount Vernon Elementary are English Language Learners, with many coming from Spanish-speaking households, and the school offers a dual-language program designed to make students bilingual, biliterate and culturally aware.
