The Washington Commanders are back in the win column after their 41-24 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Here's how they stack up with the rest of the NFL heading into Week 4.

ESPN

Rank: 10

  • John Keim: Washington is tied for second in number of pass plays allowed of 15 yards or more (20). There have been too many coverage mishaps, sometimes stemming from aggressive safety play to stop what appears to be a run only for the opposition to pass. The Commanders allowed eight pass plays of 15 yards or more versus the Raiders, which too often was due to blown coverage and not just getting beat. The secondary needs to play with more eye discipline in coverage.

  • Eric Edholm: In Marcus Mariota's first start in three seasons, he performed ably, shaking off an early fumble to slice up the Raiders. The operation ran smoothly because the run game immediately produced, and Washington set a physical tone for the game. Five different runners carried the ball three times or more, all of them productive.

  • Nate Davis: Coach Dan Quinn is something of a microcosm for this team right now − bloodied but unbowed, all the more important as the Commanders prepare to hit the road for four of the next five weeks.

  • B/R staff: Regardless of the opponent, this was a gut-check game, especially in light of Philly's wild comeback over the Rams. Without their starting quarterback and top running back, had the Commanders fallen Sunday they would already be two back in the NFC East.

  • Frank Schwab: Bobby Wagner had 11 tackles and two sacks Sunday. He's 35 years old. The 10-time Pro Bowler is a Pro Football Hall of Fame lock, especially considering that he seems to have plenty of good football ahead of him. He's one of the great players of this era.

  • Pete Prisco: Marcus Mariota played well in place of Jayden Daniels in the blowout of the Raiders. Let Daniels take time.

Sporting News

  • Vinnie Iyer: The Commanders proved how strong their offensive system under Kliff Kingsbury is to keep up the mojo with Marcus Mariota needing to fill in for Jayden Daniels. The defense flexing vs. the run is also nice.

  • **Connor Orr:** While this may seem like a massive setback for the Commanders, there have simply been an influx of quality teams into the top 13 this week. I am always curious as to what Marcus Mariota's career may have looked like if he was drafted by someone like Kliff Kingsbury into a more modern NFL that was ready to utilize him correctly.

FOX Sports

  • **Ralph Vacchiano:** They did exactly what good teams do when they're forced to play with a backup quarterback. They rallied around Marcus Mariota with a strong defense and a powerful rushing attack (201 yards).
