WRCF And Good Sports Provide Joint Donation For Richmond Youth Organizations

RICHMOND, Va. – The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation and Good Sports announced today a joint donation that will provide more than $60,000 worth of sporting equipment to a variety of youth organizations and schools in Richmond, Va. These donations will help increase the amount of time children are active during the week by providing high-quality equipment to youth in need.

The 2017 season marks the third year in which Good Sports and the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation have come together to provide donations of athletic equipment, apparel, and footwear to programs that get kids more physically active in their communities. During the past three years, the partnership has provided more than $180,000 worth of equipment and impacted more than 74,000 children in Richmond, Va., and Washington, D.C. areas.

This cycle of donations, the first of two for the year, will affect 6,019 children from 11 organizations across the greater Richmond area. Seven of those 11 organizations are from Richmond Public Schools.

Recipient organizations of this donation include Anna Julia Cooper Episcopal School, Armstrong High School, Fairfield Middle School, Franklin Military Academy, George Wythe High School, Huguenot High School, John Marshall High School, Peter Paul Development Center, Swansboro Elementary School, Thomas Jefferson High School and the Academy at Virginia Randolph.

"The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation is proud to be able to donate more than $60,000 worth of brand new sports equipment to schools and nonprofits serving children," said Jane Rodgers, Executive Director of the Charitable Foundation.
