LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Commanders announced today that they have re-signed kicker Jake Moody. Full terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Moody (6-1, 210) is entering his fourth season in the NFL after being selected in the third round of the 2023 draft by the San Francisco 49ers. Moody has appeared in 40 career games with a career kicking percentage of 78 percent. He earned PFWA All-Rookie Team following the 2023 season and has kicked in three playoff games, including Super Bowl LVIII against Kansas City.
In 2025, Moody played in three games, one in San Francisco and two in Chicago, before joining Washington prior to Week 13. He finished the season 19-for-23 and 10-for-11 during his time with the Commanders.
Over the course of his first two seasons in San Francisco, Moody went 45-of-59 on field goals and 92-of-94 on extra points. In Super Bowl LVIII, Moody made a 55-yard kick which broke the Super Bowl record for longest field goal made to date.
A native of Novi, Michigan, Moody played at the University of Michigan for five seasons (2018-2022) and set the school record for total points (355), games played (60), and longest field goal made (59 yards). Following the 2021 season, Moody was awarded the Lou Groza Award winner which is given to the nation's best kicker.
