When it comes to the healthy development of children, Redskins offensive tackle Tyler Polumbus values three elements over all others: family, faith and personal growth.
Polumbus has included these three pillars in the development of his own foundation, "Tyler’s Kids Outreach," which continues to benefit children in both his hometown of Denver and the Washington, D.C. area.
"I am getting a chance to do what many dream of in playing for the Redskins and it is important to us that we take full advantage of all the opportunities provided from being a professional athlete," Polumbus said. "We hope that through our program we are able to bring even the slightest bit of joy to each kid we meet. We know that every time we show up at the hospital, every time we throw a party for the kids and every time we are able to bring a child to a game our lives positively impacted."**
And now, Redskins fans have an opportunity to help Tyler's Kids Outreach grow even more.
Polumbus was recently named a nominee for All Sports United's "Most Valuable Philanthropist" competition, which pits Polumbus in a friendly matchup against several other professional athletes and coaches and their charitable organizations.
This online and fan engagement competition highlights the community work of a variety of high-profile sports figures and allow fans to vote for their favorite cause up to three times a day until May 15 to cut the pool down to the top 10.
The winner of the overall competition will receive in-kind services and a cash donation for their charity of representation.
