LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Commanders announced today that they have signed offensive lineman Andrew Wylie to a contract extension. Full terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Wylie (6-5, 304) is an eight-year veteran who entered the league as an undrafted free agent and signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018. He has appeared in 116 career regular season games with 93 starts.
Wylie has played for three seasons with Washington (2023-25) and has appeared in 45 total games with 33 starts along with starting three postseason games in 2024.
Prior to signing with Washington, Wylie appeared in 71 total games with 59 starts along with starting in 11 postseason games at both guard and tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs.
He helped anchors Kansas City's offensive line in the playoffs in each of his five years with the club, including five AFC West division championships, three AFC Conference Championships and three Super Bowl appearances (LV, LIV, LVII).
During the 2024 season, Wylie allowed no sacks during Washington's 2024 NFC Championship run.
In 2023, Wylie played in 16 games and was part of an offensive line that didn't allow a sack against the Philadelphia Eagles defense, in route to a 38-35 victory in Super Bowl LVII.
From 2019-21, Wylie appeared in 38 games with 32 starts. In 2018, he played in 16 games with 10 starts as a rookie and recorded a season low in sacks allowed (1.5). The Chiefs presented Wylie with the 2018 Mack Lee Hill Award as the team's best first-year player.
Wylie played collegiately at Eastern Michigan where he recorded 44 starts and was named third-team All-MAC his senior season.
Wylie, 31, attended Midland High School in Midland, Michigan. He married his wife Kasey in 2023.
